While it’s not yet proved to be too successful, it’s still okay to visit overseas sites. Some Indian states have sought to liberalise online gambling, offering a legal online lottery and licences. Then there’s the Goa Act, possibly the only clear law in the country around online gambling, that applies to Goa, Diu and Daman and provides a framework for games of luck like slots.
Interestingly, some states, such as the State of Sikkim allow online casino gambling, whereas Nagaland allows you to play some games of skill. For instance, break the law in states like Telangana or Andhra Pradesh, and you will be dealt a fine and, possibly, time in jail.
There are a number of Indian states that outright outlaw gambling, and if you’re caught breaking the law, you may just face severe punishment.
